Neutralization Process:
Certain
oils contain waxes, corn oil is one of them, but sunflower is biggest
volume, and these oils have to be dewaxed for consumer acceptance.
The only way to completely remove all traces of waxes for an extreme
cold test is to use cold filteration. However, if you can remove the
bulk of the waxws prior to filtration, then this process will be less
wasteful in the terms of losses, filter aids, and time.
One way is to carry out a degumming at low temperature, which can be
remove up to 70% of the waxes, but an even better method is multi wax.
Multiwax uses the high-efficiency refining techniques of Multi
Mix Combined with wax crystal separation and removal Techniques taht we
originally developed for the fractionation of palm oil.
The result is the well-refined oil containing almost no waxes. If your
cold test requirement is not too high, you may not even need to cold
filter.
